Everyday Makeup!

Hey everyone! Today was a super blustery snowy day, so I decided to take the opportunity to do something I've been wanting to do for a while! I made a video, showing my go-to make up routine! I hope you enjoy it. Thumbs up and subscribe and I might make more! (Tempting, isn't it?)

Kick It

Last night I was lying in bed, not feeling well in any way, and was feeling really down in general. I've been feeling really overwhelmed with life lately. Being in college, 19 years old, unsure of what you want in life sounds really exciting (and it can be) but I think when you are the 19 year old, in college, and unsure it's more overwhelming than anything else. Anyways, I was talking to my boyfriend about it last night, and he basically told me not to worry about it for the rest of the night and that tomorrow, we would "kick it" - Not as in we'll hang out, but as in we'll kick the feeling away. Naturally, my first question was "But what will I wear?" and we decided I should wear something fun, and this outfit seemed fun to me this morning. I actually do feel a lot better, and I'd like to think this outfit (and my boyfriend!) had a lot to do with it. I'm ready to kick it. :)

What do you wear when you want to feel better about yourself?

Let There Be Pearls

I received a lot of out there comparison's for this outfit. I referred to it as first as my "Sunday best", but that was quickly thrown out when I was referred to as "grunge royalty" (hello compliment!) "Old Lady meets Lumberjack" was one of the lesser exciting ones, but hey, I take what I can get! This outfit to me was very Courtney Love. If you are new to my blog, then you probably don't know how much I gravitate towards her style.

Some people might think a full on dress, tights, and pearls is a little much for a casual Sunday, but I'm a strong believer in wearing what you want when you want. This morning I woke up and felt it was a dress kind of day, and so it was.

Just Don't Give a Damn

I felt like this outfit was too much in some ways, but today I just didn't care. I've been feeling very inspired lately, which is a feeling that I regret to report has been sparce in recent months. I'm in a "just don't give a damn" mind set, and this kimono was so comfortable. I came out of my room this morning (er, afternoon) and Matt said "You look like a hippie." Usually that's all I need. I didn't want to look to "bohemian" though, because it's not really my style. I mean, bohemian is part of my style, what I mean is that one thing isn't my style. I don't like looking totally bohemian, or totally preppy, or totally punk, but I like mixing those things up. Amplifying one word for the look, for me, feels really forced and serious. That being said, I thought converse were the perfect shoe to push my easy look to it's ultimate effortless edge. The result was an outfit, much to my surprise, that I felt really confident in.

What do you feel most confident in?

Goofed

Hey there. I hope you all don't mind goofy photos, because there's a lot of them in this blog post. I just woke up in a giddy mood today, and when my boyfriend came over to help me take these photos, the excitement turned the situation into a really goofy photo shoot. I actually thought we got more "blog appropriate" photos then we did, but in all reality, sometimes outfits look the best when you're acting a little more like yourself. I feel like so many blogs post the same kind of things over and over, and sometimes that's okay, it all just depends on the blog. All I'm saying is that for me personally, these photos are a breath of fresh air to post.

Anyways, I have been wearing these jeans for like, the past three days. I don't even care what that says about my personal hygiene and laundry doing abilities. I bought them (FINALLY) from The Gap, and am obsessed. I thought today would be the best day to do an outfit post for them anyways, considering my last post was about different ways to wear them. Boyfriend jeans forever! <3

Urban Decay - Naked 3 Giveaway!

 Gorgeous, isn't it?
It is, trust me. I got one as soon as I found out they were at my local Sephora. So gorgeous in fact, that the idea of a girl not owning one of her very own feels tragic. (Okay, okay. Not exactly tragic, but I figured if I could give one of you this awesome gift, I've done a very good deed. Plus, I love giveaways.)

This giveaway will be open until February 10th, so get your entries in while you can! The good news for you guys is that my blog doesn't have a huge following, so your odds of winning are pretty high. That being said, enter enter enter! I will contact the winner as soon as I draw the name. I'm so excited! May the odds be ever in your favor. (Like that reference? It was a little lame. Sorry.)

Minimalist

Hey everyone! Christmas break is just about over, and I'm finally back from Alaska. I'm feeling really refreshed. I love New Years. I know there's a lot of people who say, "why make a promise to change on New Years? Why not change what you don't like year round?" And I agree totally, but there's something about a new year that's so refreshing to me. It's like a brand new notebook, or hearing an album you've never heard by a band you already love. I have a lot of New Years resolutions this year, and so far I'm going really strongly with them. In case any of you are curious, a few of them are:
1. Create a budget and stick to it. It's hard to not spend all your money on clothes when you're in school for fashion, have a fashion blog, follow fashion blogs, and spend your free time on Pinterest. But it has to be done.
2. Eat healthier and excercize more. This isn't so much because of any body image issues as it is internal issues. I want to be a happier more fulfilled version of myself from now on, and sometimes that starts on the most basic level of eating right and exercising.
3. Write more often. I used to love writing, and it was such a great way for me to let out my feelings but I stopped a few years ago for absolutely no reason. I recently have had reasons to write again, including this blog, and I'm rediscovering my love for it.
4. Find more hobbies. I have a really huge problem with hobbies. The problem is, I have none. Besides shopping, which obviously contradicts the first resolution. I used to be a lot more creative than I am today, which really sucks. There's no excuse for it, and I'm holding myself to this one for sure.
5. My cousin Timmy requested one of my resolutions to be "Finish one Legend of Zelda game." So that's on here, because I love video games but haven't ever beaten a Zelda game. We'll see how this one goes.

As you can see, I've had a very busy last week dealing with all these amazing resolutions, and I'm not wavering on them yet!

As for today however, I was really excited to wear this outfit. My mom bought me these shoes because I haven't been able to shut up about them since I saw them in a Free People catalog months ago! I've also never really owned such a comfortable dress before. I love this maxi because it's cute enough to wear out but casual enough to stay in. I'm actually really proud of the way these photos came out. I was originally planning on going outside in one of my usual haunts to take outfit photos, but as soon as I got outside it started pouring rain and I was not happy. On my way back into the building though, I stopped my boyfriend with this crazy idea of taking photos in my building's laundry room. I wasn't expecting for them to turn out well, but I'm actually pretty proud of them! I think I'll start doing more inside photo shoots. I felt like I had so much more to work and play with!

What do you think of the way these photos turned out?

(Also, I am planning on doing a "What I Got for Christmas" video to show you all my most recent purchases and gifts received in the last month. I got some really cute stuff!)

Christmas Wishlist: 2013

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a long time. I've been so busy with school, but I took my last final yesterday and am feeling so relieved. I also haven't been posting because I'm leaving back to Alaska for the Holidays and won't be back until January 5th. If I were blogging this month, I would really want it to be for the whole month and all Christmas related posts, but I know I won't be able to blog much, if at all, when I'm back home. It makes me really sad, so that's why I haven't posted much so far this month. However, I've been thinking a lot about my blog, and when I return in January I plan on changing some things! I'm not sure what yet, but I've been blogging for a while now and feel my blog needs to be revamped; whether it's in design or content or both! Hopefully you all will be as excited about that as I am!

I couldn't bring myself to not post a Christmas list though, so I threw my wishlist together through Photoshop for you guys! Comment below and let me know what you've been asking Santa for this year. :)

 My 2013 Christmas Wishlist!

1. Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Fran Bag
9. Cute Boot Socks

Of course, I'm not by any means expecting all of these gifts, but these are definitely on the top half of my list. What's on your guys' list? Don't forget to comment below!

Flecks of Golden Glitter

I was so excited to show you guys this new skirt that I wanted the day to be perfect. I usually like to save outfits like this for days where I'll actually be doing something, but I woke up today in kind of a weird mood and just needed to wear something pretty, even though all I would be doing was sitting at my computer churning out homework.

I have been desperate for glitzy stuff because I feel like the month of December is really the only time where it's really appropriate to wear them. Don't get me wrong, I've been known to bust out my more "dazzling" pieces year round, but there's something about glitter in December that just feels right. When I was home for Thanksgiving, I really wanted to bring home my senior prom dress which is knee length and covered in gold and silver glitter and sequins. Alas, I forgot to bring it, which of course meant I had to buy something similar to substitute. I went to Urban Outfitters looking for Christmas stalkings to no avail. However, I did see a bunch of glittery pieces! I tried on probably about seven different gorgeous glittery things, but in the end because I wanted to save my money to buy presents for everyone for Christmas, I settled on this gorgeous maxi skirt. I'm so glad I did. Even though it's not really a piece a person can wear every day, I'm still so in love with it! I love the way light hits in, and shines through the sheer glittery maxi length sections. It's flowy, it's flattering, and it's glittery. What more could a girl want in a skirt? I can't wait to wear it more and more!

What pieces are your favorite to wear for the Holiday season?
