Everyday Makeup!

Hey everyone! Today was a super blustery snowy day, so I decided to take the opportunity to do something I've been wanting to do for a while! I made a video, showing my go-to make up routine! I hope you enjoy it. Thumbs up and subscribe and I might make more! (Tempting, isn't it?)

Links I Love: February

I had an outfit post planned for you all today, but it's actually a snow blizzard! At least I think it is. I'm not sure what counts for a blizzard in Portland. All I know was school was cancelled for me today (yay!) and I thought today was the perfect opportunity to share with you all some links I love. I haven't done a post like this in a long time, so I'm excited to bring it to you guys on a day where all I feel like doing is playing on my computer and snuggling in my comfiest clothes. If you're having the same kind of day and want a little break from Tumblr or Pinterest (is that even a real feeling?) check these out!

1. I'm kind of obsessed with Winona Ryder. I'm not sure if that's something I've shared with you all yet, but it's a thing for me. A big thing! I found this awesome slideshow showcasing her style as it's evolved over the years. I was pretty satisfied. Click here to check out Huffington Post's Winona Ryder style evolution slide show!

2. I kind of just want someone to make these "Heart of the Batter" Food Network cupcakes for me, but if that can't happen, the directions seem simple enough to where I'd be up to the task. Hopefully. Maybe?

3. I know I've mentioned my nostalgic love for Nancy Drew computer games, as well as my adoration for the YouTuber Arden Rose. Well, those to things miraculously melded when Arden created her YouTube "Let's Play" channel, ARose Games. For those of you who don't know, a "Let's Play" video is basically a video where the YouTuber plays through the game and provides entertaining commentary. Check out Arden's Nancy Drew: Ghost of Thornton Hall video for a prime example of girl gamer amazingness.

4. This list of 101 Tips for Healthy Skin is pretty extensive (Obviously, I mean how can you provide 101 items and not be extensive? Seriously.) and actually really informative! I'll have to keep some of these things in mind when washing my face, and when grocery shopping.

5. I'm pretty skeptical of detox regimens, but seeing this Detox guide on Lauren Conrad's site was a breath of fresh air for me. Finally, the results of a detox without feeling like what I'm doing is completely unhealthy and horrible for me in the long run. Thanks for everything you do, Lauren Conrad.

6. Fashion bloggers! Check this one out! It's a list of common posing mistakes from a photographer. Helpful? Yes. Harsh? No! So check it out.

7. I absolutely love this video. I saw it over a month ago, and when I thought of doing a Links I Love post, I knew it had to make the cut. This video features a forensic sketch artist. He asks a woman to explain how she looks and he draws based on the description, and then he asks a friend to describe the same woman. The result is amazing. It's a reminder that we're all our worst critics, and that we're all beautiful.

8. Though this money saving grocery guide is more geared towards family, it's still super helpful. I mean, she saved so much money to feed a family, imagine how much I would save just on feeding myself?! Definitely a great read for people of all ages looking to budget their money better. (Like me. Sad face.)

9. Finally, kick back and relax while playing one of these relaxing online games. Sometimes it's nice to just have some mindless entertainment, and some of them are super cute, so, that's a plus.

There you guys go! Let me know what you think of these links, and if you would like a monthly post like this!

Favorites!

Hey everyone! Unfortunately, I'm still pretty sick. When I'm sick, I can only manage to look a little bit better than disgusting for about ten minutes before I'm back to looking like grandma death. What this means for you guys is that you don't get an outfit post from me today! Again! I know, I know, it's sad. Especially for me, because I've bought so much cute stuff the past few weeks that I've been just dying to show you all!

However, that doesn't change the fact that I'm too sick to take blog pictures today. So I thought I could show you all some other things I've been *dying* over lately! Take a look, and feel free to comment any of your favorites! I'm always looking for new things to try.

 Favorite Show

I am so in love with this show. (Isn't everyone?) I was a little late jumping on the bandwagon, though. I didn't see the first episode until a while after the show's finale aired. I could go on and on about Walter White though, and just about what a great show this is in general. I have six episodes left in the series to watch, and I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen! No spoilers, please.

Favorite Make Up
I've talked about it a lot in all my posts, because I've been wearing it so much. My favorite make up item right now is hands down Stila's "In the Light" palette, but I might tie it in place with Stila's "In the Know" palette as well, but I haven't gotten enough chances to wear it to truly say which I prefer. Either way, this palette is gorgeous and it has so many combination options.

Favorite Products
This one is a two way tie, because I wanted to show you all something fun and girly as well as something practical and equally amazing. If you haven't purchased Marc Jacob's Honey - do that. I'm not just saying that because I'm semi-obsessed with this designer. It's seriously a heavenly scent.

Secondly, I wanted to tell you all about my Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue cream. There's a lot of products out there that boast of making your feet amazingly smooth - This one actually does it. Trust. Me.

Favorite YouTube Channel

ARose186 is still my favorite YouTube channel for many reasons, but From Head to Toe is another great beauty guru who I thought was worth sharing. My boyfriend and I always hold little challenges for each other, and the last one was that we had to find each other each new YouTubers that we would want to subscribe to. (Basically, he had to find Beauty Gurus and I had to find Let's Players) He came up with From Head to Toe and I was really impressed! She does a lot of really fun make up tutorials.

Favorite Book
I actually haven't had a chance to read lately, but it's something that I'm pretty excited to have the time for once school slows down. My mom is obsessed with Stieg Larsson's books, and they came highly recommended. I'm definitely checking this one out the first chance I get!

Favorite Snack

Lately, I am snacking on Nutella every time I need a quick snack. Running late for class? Smother something in Nutella, duh! Seriously though, these Belvita granola bars are delicious on their own, but adding Nutella on them is the perfect snack for any chocolate lover who is looking for something quick and filling!

Favorite Music

I'm sure all of you have heard of Lorde by now. My cousin introduced me to her a while back, and I think her voice is so awesome. She has some incredibly catchy songs, and her whole new album is great. Also, her hair is really cool. Bonus points.

Cage the Elephant has been one of my favorite bands since around 2008, and their new album Melophobia is nothing short of amazing in my opinion. If you like bands like the Pixies, Nirvana, and The White Stripes, you'll love Cage the Elephant.

Favorite Person

This one I just wanted to throw in for fun, in case he's reading. My boyfriend definitely is my favorite person, always!

My Favorite Youtuber: Arden Rose!

So lately (and by lately, I mean always) I've been watching a lot of YouTube beauty gurus. I stumbled across one who has become my all time favorite though, and thought I would share her hilarious beauty wisdom with you!

Arden Rose is adorable, silly, down to earth, and knows what she's talking about. I feel like most beauty gurus on YouTube are so cookie cutter - They're cutesy and bubbly and honestly the kind of girls I could see myself not wanting to hang out with in real life. I know, that's harsh, but it's true! It's like with a camera in front of you, you pull out your nicest self but the nicest most flattering version of yourself usually isn't the most honest! I love Arden because, though every YouTuber talks about how important it is to be yourself, Arden actually does it. (Disclaimer: For all I know, all the other gurus I've seen are bubbly and perfect, and thus they are being themselves, but I'm just speaking from what I know about being/hanging around girls!) Whether it's a sarcastic intro to a get ready with me video, or telling us about the true reason she drinks so much coffee, Arden is saying what we're all thinking yet somehow not being rude about it!

I could go on and on about how much I love arose186, but that might be creepy and unnecessary. Instead, why don't you see for yourself. Here are a few of my favorite videos from Arden's channel that I thought best displayed her quirky personality. I hope you enjoy and subscribe to her! (Also, she's making a video game channel. How cool is that?! Okay, shutting up now~)

Inspiration Monday: Eleventh Gorgeous!

Hey guys!
So, there is going to be a very minor change to this blog. Some of you might not even notice because the daily posts have only been going on for a few weeks, but I thought I would mention it in case any of you did notice and wanted to know what was up with the change. What was formerly known as Pinspiration Monday will now simply be Inspiration Monday. It was getting to be more work than it was fun to find a bunch of cool pins that I cared enough about to share with you all. This way, it's a bit more open ended so I can share with you all anything that is inspiring me, whether it be a pin, multiple pins, a tumblr image, a new blog, or in today's case - a YouTube channel!
YouTube blogging is something that I love watching but have no experience in at all. In fact, my Nordstrom haul was the first YouTube video I've ever put up that wasn't just me goofing around with my friends. I'm thinking about doing more but not sure if I have what it takes - Especially compared to some other amazing YouTubers out there!

The YouTube channel I'm going to be talking about with you all today is one that I've mentioned previously on this blog before, but only briefly. Eleventh Gorgeous is such a fun channel to watch. Make up, beauty, fashion, and all that fun girl stuff has always been something I take very seriously! (Not in a serious way though. Take seriously in a fun way.) So when I first started watching YouTubers who talked a lot about drug store products, I was a little skeptical. That was until I found Eleventh Gorgeous. Look at these girls' make up and tell me it doesn't look like they knew what they were doing when they picked out what to put on their faces!

Aside from inspiring me to search both high end and lower end for beauty products, these ladies are also just flat out entertaining to watch. Though their style isn't necessarily my style, I still find their channel to be really inspiring. Obviously, I have a fashion blog. But I still love beauty, health, and make up stuff as well. I look forward to these girls' input with every video! Here are a few of my favorite videos they've posted recently!
