FUNK!

Hey everyone. I almost didn't take blog pictures today. I feel so lethargic and weak. I think I'm getting sick, and all I want to do is sleep, be lazy, and play the Sims 3! Once again, I wasn't nearly as productive as I should have been today.

I'm getting really excited about Halloween though! The reason I even left the house today in this outfit is because, well, one, I love my new jacket but haven't gotten around to wearing it yet. Secondly, and most directly, I went to buy pumpkins today! I went to Whole Foods and picked out three perfect pumpkins. Every year I try to carve the best pumpkin and every year it doesn't work out - If this year is any different, I'll be sure to post about it on my blog! (And maybe even if it doesn't work out, I'll still post it on my blog! You just won't know til it happens!)

If you saw the last photo of this post, then you're probably wondering who that guy is in the bottom photo. Well, I don't know his name. He asked for 85 cents, and when my boyfriend complied, the homeless (or maybe he has a home and his hobby is begging on the street. Either way, he was very eccentric.) He told my boyfriend Matt that everyone who gives him money gets to pull on the rope he was sitting by and it gives them good wishes. He also said he is often mistaken for the drummer of a funk band, and when Matt took his picture, instead of saying "cheese" as Matt suggested, he held up a peace sign and said "FUNK!"

Pretty hilarious.

Links I Love

Hey everyone. I'm stealing this idea from a bunch of bloggers, because I've seen it done a couple times and every time I do, I think about what a cool idea it is. It might not happen every Friday, but any Friday where I think I've found enough amusing, worth while, entertaining, fashion-y, or share worthy things while surfing the world wide web, I'll definitely do one of these posts! It may be silly, it may be thought provoking, or it may be based on what this blog is all about - fashion and style. You just never know! Anyways, without further ado, here are a few links I'm loving.

1. I just thought this newspaper print manicure idea was too cute to pass up for this blog post. I think it's especially perfect for fall, considering it's the perfect time to snuggle up with a good book.

2. I don't know about you guys, but I've always wondered where the most famous meme faces ended up. It's weird to me to think that they're actually people. Not in a mean way, just they've brought me so much amusement by being odd and funny, but they're really just regular people! I mean, what if Scumbag Steve isn't... a scumbag? Food for thought.

3. I think this is just the coolest cutest thing I've seen in a long time! Maybe it's just because I'm currently taking a class on Dress & Society, and recognizing these styles of dresses makes it way more fun, but I am loving the historical inspiration for the Disney princesses. Way to go Disney, for always at least trying to be somewhat accurate!

4. I first stumbled across this little comic on depression while searching the web by myself. My boyfriend heard me laughing and so of course, I had to read it to him. I don't know if any of you have ever had depression or anxiety, or if you've known anyone (believe me, I hope you haven't) but this comic was one of those things where it was so true it's funny! (My personal favorite line is when the character states that he looks like some "Eskimo vagrant" - Been there!)

5. Finally, something at least somewhat educational. I couldn't believe some of these beauty tips from around the globe.  Garlic in nail polish? What?

My Favorite Youtuber: Arden Rose!

So lately (and by lately, I mean always) I've been watching a lot of YouTube beauty gurus. I stumbled across one who has become my all time favorite though, and thought I would share her hilarious beauty wisdom with you!

Arden Rose is adorable, silly, down to earth, and knows what she's talking about. I feel like most beauty gurus on YouTube are so cookie cutter - They're cutesy and bubbly and honestly the kind of girls I could see myself not wanting to hang out with in real life. I know, that's harsh, but it's true! It's like with a camera in front of you, you pull out your nicest self but the nicest most flattering version of yourself usually isn't the most honest! I love Arden because, though every YouTuber talks about how important it is to be yourself, Arden actually does it. (Disclaimer: For all I know, all the other gurus I've seen are bubbly and perfect, and thus they are being themselves, but I'm just speaking from what I know about being/hanging around girls!) Whether it's a sarcastic intro to a get ready with me video, or telling us about the true reason she drinks so much coffee, Arden is saying what we're all thinking yet somehow not being rude about it!

I could go on and on about how much I love arose186, but that might be creepy and unnecessary. Instead, why don't you see for yourself. Here are a few of my favorite videos from Arden's channel that I thought best displayed her quirky personality. I hope you enjoy and subscribe to her! (Also, she's making a video game channel. How cool is that?! Okay, shutting up now~)
