Kick It

Last night I was lying in bed, not feeling well in any way, and was feeling really down in general. I've been feeling really overwhelmed with life lately. Being in college, 19 years old, unsure of what you want in life sounds really exciting (and it can be) but I think when you are the 19 year old, in college, and unsure it's more overwhelming than anything else. Anyways, I was talking to my boyfriend about it last night, and he basically told me not to worry about it for the rest of the night and that tomorrow, we would "kick it" - Not as in we'll hang out, but as in we'll kick the feeling away. Naturally, my first question was "But what will I wear?" and we decided I should wear something fun, and this outfit seemed fun to me this morning. I actually do feel a lot better, and I'd like to think this outfit (and my boyfriend!) had a lot to do with it. I'm ready to kick it. :)

Goth

Hey everyone. I didn't post the last two days because I went to Seattle to visit my cousin, and to have my other cousin dye part of my hair blonde. (She's amazing with hair. I added one color photo for you all to get the full effect.) So if you missed me, that's why. As with my last post, today was one of those I-can't-wear-my-outfit-outside rainy kind of days. Minus having to get creative for outfit posts, I actually really love days like this. It's been really windy and rainy here in Portland, which made it the perfect day to snuggle up with my boyfriend to watch the NFL play offs. (By the way, GO HAWKS!)

I had been coveting this midi length tutu for a while, and my mom surprised me with it for Christmas! (You may remember seeing it on my Christmas wishlist post.) I can think of so many different ways to wear it, which is odd because a midi length tutu isn't exactly a "wardrobe staple". At least, not in any regular sense. But hey, maybe it's a wardrobe staple for me. And if it turns out to be, that's great. I decided that my debut of the skirt on my blog should be kind of minimalistic, so I just paired it with a lace bralette and my Jeffrey Campbell heels. I think the result was a really cool goth look. What do you think?

Do you guys have any out of the box pieces that you consider staples or favorites?

If You Say So

I don't think you can really tell in these photos, but it was raining pretty hard when I took these photos! It's that time of year again here in Portland, I guess! Today, I just wanted to dress really casual while still looking cute. This outfit is a little tame for my taste, but the balance of masculine and feminine pulled it together for me. My flowy top with crochet details, I thought, looked nice with my skater style skinny jeans, jacket, and beanie. I had to visit my modeling agency today and everyone there told me I looked "super chic" - I guess if your modeling agency tells you you look good, you should believe them! There are plenty of outfits that I plan out and get excited to ear, so I think it's interesting sometimes when I wear something and don't think much of it, and end up getting noticed for it.

Do you ever wear an outfit you don't think much of until someone mentions something?
