Rainy Day Woman

I've been seeing this Starry Night Slip everywhere lately, and seeing as I have one myself, I figured I would wear it today! I wanted to style it in kind of a different way (different for me anyway!), and I actually really like the way it came out! My first thought when I look at this slip is to go with a dark and mysterious look, with black and leather. I went the opposite direction today with light wash boyfriend jeans, and a coral ombre lace bralette. The result created a much more fun look, which was just what I needed on this gloomy Portland day. I love it when you have a garment that you can totally flip in a way you never thought of before!

What do you think of this look? How would you style this slip?

Heart of Gold

Today was such a busy and productive day for me. I've been busy with applying for scholarships and keeping up with school. (Finals are coming up!) In about an hour, I'm going to head out to a casting call for Portland Fashion Week. They're looking for models and wanted to meet with me, so that's excited! In between all the busyness, as always, I took the time to take some outfit photos. Blogging is my favorite part of my day, aside from when I get to come home and snuggle my cat for the rest of the evening. (I'm not as lame as I sound.) Lately, I've been finding comfort and happiness in the little things. Today, a breeze went buy and it felt so good while wearing this flow-y top, I just had to stop and smile. When you're having a busy day, I think it best to focus on the little things; it keeps you grounded.

Bright

So much sunshine! Finally! I feel like every blog post I've been writing the past few weeks is some variation of "today sucked, no sunshine, maybe later." It's finally later, and it's gorgeous out! It's still not super warm, but it's a start! I guess you could say the sunshine had inspired my outfit because I normally don't dress this bright. When I woke up though, I just knew it wasn't a black on black kind of day and that I needed a little color! That also made me realize how little of it I have in my wardrobe, which is something I am hoping to change for this summer.

What things are you looking to add to your wardrobe for summer?

Like a Boy

I looked at the weather app on my phone and saw that it is supposed to rain for like, the next week. Seeing that it was sunny outside today, I knew I had to take the opportunity to take some dry blog pictures. I still have a horrible cold though, so I did take the day off from school and am planning on spending the rest of the day on my couch, browsing Instagram and Tumblr, and working hard to not work at all. I decided to take it easy with my outfit today, wearing something I feel comfortable and confident in. When in doubt, I dress like a boy.

What do you feel most comfortable in?

Fisherman's Daughter

This was one of those outfits I just felt "right" in. As you know if you've been reading my blog, I've been feeling a little off lately, and that usually results in some homesickness. A lot of the outfits I wear on my blog wouldn't fly in every day Alaska life, but this one totally would. Maybe it was my home sickness, maybe it was the horrible weather - Hell, maybe it was both! But today I just felt like dressing like the most comfortable version of myself, the first version of myself; just a fisherman's daughter.

Goofed

Hey there. I hope you all don't mind goofy photos, because there's a lot of them in this blog post. I just woke up in a giddy mood today, and when my boyfriend came over to help me take these photos, the excitement turned the situation into a really goofy photo shoot. I actually thought we got more "blog appropriate" photos then we did, but in all reality, sometimes outfits look the best when you're acting a little more like yourself. I feel like so many blogs post the same kind of things over and over, and sometimes that's okay, it all just depends on the blog. All I'm saying is that for me personally, these photos are a breath of fresh air to post.

Anyways, I have been wearing these jeans for like, the past three days. I don't even care what that says about my personal hygiene and laundry doing abilities. I bought them (FINALLY) from The Gap, and am obsessed. I thought today would be the best day to do an outfit post for them anyways, considering my last post was about different ways to wear them. Boyfriend jeans forever! <3
