All There

"Wherever You Are, Be All There."

Maybe it's the sunshine talking, but I'm feeling pretty damn alive lately. I have always been the kind of person who feels emotions very deeply, which is both a blessing and a curse, but I have not always been the kind of person who embraces it. I'm still not really, but every once and a while I get a peek into what life is like when you live it 'all there', and I realize all over again how mesmerizing and stupidly wonderful life can be. Today was one of those days for me, and I feel like my outfit reflected that. Outfits are more than just a "style", to me, they're an emotion, and today's emotions were happy, lively, grateful, and all there.

Head to Toe

I've been wearing more and more head to toe Free People outfits lately. If I had to blame it on something, I would probably say it's my anxiousness for summer. This top for example, is such a perfect summer time piece for me. It's light, breezy, feminine, and easy to style. That's how I would describe my favorite summer time looks, and it's also how I'd describe  most everything I buy from Free People. It's definitely the essentially summer time store if you're looking to splurge. And I'm always looking to splurge.

What is your favorite store for summer time clothing?

Bare a Bit More

I am so excited today. I was skipping around from place to place while taking these photos with my boyfriend, because I am just SO happy to have some sunshine that actually allowed me to not need at least a sweater! First of all, hot weather is always exciting. There's something about the weather that just says "it's a good day to have fun." With that being said, Matt and I have plans to roast some hot dogs on our building's roof and enjoy the rays. Secondly, a good friend of mine and fellow blogger (check out her blog here!) Kacie just started working at Free People last month. The other day I swung into the store to see if she was there (and to, you know, peek around at the merchandise.) She had told me about this bra earlier in the week and I demanded she show it to me! It's super stretchy (I got a medium when I normally get an xs, and it fits just fine.) and super cute. Perfect for Free People's Bare a Bit More style resolution trend. This bra will definitely be getting a lot of face time as the weather continues to heat up!

The Cold Shoulder

Wishes do come true! A big thank you to my boyfriend Matt for buying me this shirt that is currently my main obsession. I love the shoulder cold shoulders, low back, and fun print - It's a perfect hippie chick essential for me, and I'm planning to get a lot of use out if it this summer when it warms up. It's been too cold to wear it (and it kind of was too cold today to wear it... But whatever.) I woke up this morning with a horrible cold. Hopefully you can't tell - Makeup is a powerful and wonderful thing. Anyways, despite my runny nose and sore throat, as soon as I saw the sun in the sky I decided it was time to wear my new favorite shirt. I'm so glad I did, and I'm actually kind of loving the way that the photos came out, despite the fact they were taken right outside my building...

What was the last exciting purchase you guys made?

February Wishlist

My budget allows for me to make about one significant fun purchase a month. Last month, it was the pants you all saw in my last post. And in case you didn't see that, check the bad ass pants out by clicking here! Anyways, we're about halfway through February, and my gears are turning on what I want my next special piece to be, assuming I can save up enough. Hmm. I'm thinking number three... If not, number two! (For those of you who don't know, I've had a massive obsession with Nirvana as well as doodling eyeballs all over everything since as long as I can remember obsessing over things - So this shirt is kind of a special find!)

Just Don't Give a Damn

I felt like this outfit was too much in some ways, but today I just didn't care. I've been feeling very inspired lately, which is a feeling that I regret to report has been sparce in recent months. I'm in a "just don't give a damn" mind set, and this kimono was so comfortable. I came out of my room this morning (er, afternoon) and Matt said "You look like a hippie." Usually that's all I need. I didn't want to look to "bohemian" though, because it's not really my style. I mean, bohemian is part of my style, what I mean is that one thing isn't my style. I don't like looking totally bohemian, or totally preppy, or totally punk, but I like mixing those things up. Amplifying one word for the look, for me, feels really forced and serious. That being said, I thought converse were the perfect shoe to push my easy look to it's ultimate effortless edge. The result was an outfit, much to my surprise, that I felt really confident in.

What do you feel most confident in?
