Shock and Awe

These jeans served as a lesson to me that you might think you know what you want, until you try something else. I have always been a skinny jean, high rise kind of girl. But these low-rise kickesque jeans by BDG have stolen my heart. I know, I know. That's a little dramatic. But having a 34" inseam has caused jean shopping to be a pretty dramatic affair, as if it isn't dramatic enough for the average leg length, so these jeans were not only surprising but really exciting! I love the fit, and they're super comfortable. I'm guilty of slipping into something more comfortable as soon as I know I'm not going to have to leave my apartment for the rest of the day, but I found I didn't want to take these off! Who knew?

When was the last time a purchase surprised you?

Last Kiss

I have an abnormally large collection of thigh high socks for someone who rarely wears them. Today, because of the gloomy weather clashing with my sunny day mentality, I decided a pair of thigh socks would be the perfect thing to keep my floral romper cozy. I love the look of a short hemline, long socks, and a long sweater. The juxtaposition of abnormal lengths is something that I always love in an outfit. I've had this cardigan for a long time, and it's probably the coziest thing I own. I was really excited to have an opportunity to style it up a bit. Working the outfit with my Jeffrey Campbell minimal lace ups was the cherry on top of a cute rainy day ensemble for me. Unfortunately, none of these items except the shoes are still being sold. Sometimes I shy away from items I know aren't sold any more because it means it's less fun for you guys, but I think what's more important is me giving you outfits that I think are truly, well, cute! I'm not ready to kiss these items goodbye just yet.

What do you think of knee high socks? Do you have any items you just can't get rid of?

Fate

Hey everyone! I have some mega exciting news to share with you. Recently I applied for Nordstrom's Retail Management Internship program, and I found out today I got it!! I am so completely and utterly excited and grateful for this amazing opportunity. I have loved the Nordstrom company as long as I've loved fashion (which is about 19 years, going on 20!) and have wanted to be a part of their team for what feels like an eternity! I needed something good to come along, and something did! I guess it must have been destiny - So what better thing to wear than a Ouija board t-shirt, my favorite fuzzy Nordstrom sweater, and my favorite shoes?

Dress it Up, Dress it Down

I just love mixing things that don't necessarily "go together". For example, I bought this LBD specifically to go to a fashion show. Of course, a little black dress is a must have in everyone's wardrobe so I kind of needed one anyways. Anyways, I just love the polished look of a little black dress + black tights. Adding my Dolce Vita booties and a slouchy casual cardigan took the dress in a whole different comfy direction which was perfect for my day off. I literally spent all day today in front of a computer though, so it wasn't the most relaxing day off I've ever had. I certainly prefer my desk to the ones at my college though. I just finished my homework, and here I am still on the computer because I haven't been able to get this sweater out of my mind since I saw it at Urban Outfitters a few weeks ago. Buying and wearing something I've been anxious to wear always makes me very excited to post pictures. There's nothing quite as exciting to me as the excitement I get when I wake up with a cute outfit idea in mind!

What do you think of the dressy meets casual look?

Lazy Lilac Days

It has been so sunny and gorgeous outside lately! Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to do a whole lot of shopping. (Actually, that never stops me. But I never buy what I need, and instead always buy what I want. Note to self: work on that...) Anyways, I don't have a whole lot of money (YET!) or resources to work with for super hot days right now. Regardless of that, I still put together a casual, light weight, and inexpensive outfit! I'm really loving pastels right now; I mean who isn't? It's spring time! But aside from that, this outfit also associates some of my other favorite things. Lace, a cardigan, and long necklaces. :) What is your go-to summer time outfit for a lazy day?
