Better Weather

Hey everyone! I know I've been more than neglectful over the summer, but I promise I'm trying to be better about it. A busy schedule + a lack of inspiration has been hindering my creativity as of lately, but I'm starting to get back into the groove of things, especially with fall time approaching. I think we can all agree that sweaters make everything better. Always. I've always preferred "gloomy" weather over sunny days, anyways. To me, it opens up so many options for outfits and layering, plus I love all the cozy activities. There's some guilt free aspect of staying in bed all day watching Netflix in the fall that I just don't get in the summer! Besides that, I'm ready for my hair to stop turning red. The sun'll do crazy things to your hair - Does anybody else have that problem? Blagh!

Oh! P.S. These leggings from Zara are a fall time essential. Buy some.

What are your most favorite fall time activities?

Gloom

Today is just one of those days. To be honest, I kind of love gloomy days. With sunshine comes the obligation to get up and do something. Don't get me wrong, sometimes that's nice and it's most definitely necessary. Other times though, it's nice to know that the weather is on your side of being blah. I'm big on balance, and I believe without the blah days we wouldn't truly appreciate the sunshiny ones. So here's to a good blah day! I hope you all enjoy the mood of your city no matter what the weather.

XtraTuf

There's more pictures of the scenery today than anything. I almost didn't share this outfit with you because I didn't get a lot of pictures of it due to a stomach ache, and because it wasn't that exciting in my eyes. I actually received a lot of compliments walking around, from both women and men who were admiring my courage in wearing XtraTuf boots.

XtraTufs aren't exactly a fashionable choice, however they are a fashion statement and a direct link to my home. Where I'm from, everybody owns a pair of these boots. It always makes me laugh a little when I think about the fact that Portland is one of the rainiest cities in the country, and everybody spends 100 dollars a year on rain boots from Nordstroms that will end up needing to be replaced. My mom bought me these to replace my old ones that I had throughout high school, which I had for trolling up and down the beach and picking fish. These ones are a lot shinier, but it's nice to have a little bit of home with me in my outfit. That in itself is worth posting about. (Plus, I think the boots are damn cute. But that could be just me.)

Adore-able

Today is the first day that I only have a little bit of homework to do. (A five page paper isn't too bad, right?) Because I only had a little bit to do, I procrastinated a little bit and now am feeling a little rushed. However my procrastination time was spent sleeping in and picking out my outfit. I had a couple different variations of this outfit in my head, but settled on this one simply because it was the one that best show cased my Adore Me bra. My friend Kacie had a blog post about the store and I bought a set right after reading it. Their bras are a little too perfect to keep hidden, so I feel pretty confident in this outfit because of the little Adore Me touch.

When was the last time a fellow blogger inspired you to buy something?

These Days

Sorry about the huge lack of photos in this post. On Wednesdays, I have two classes with only two hours in between and I have to walk home from the first one so I don't have a whole lot of time to eat, finish any homework, and take blog photos but I do try. These days, I've been so busy lately and all I want to do is hibernate, read, and listen to music. (Specifically The Velvet Underground. RIP Lou Reed, you will forever be one of my favorites this time of year.) I usually get into this mood when it starts to get colder and darker outside. I know it might sound strange, but I kind of enjoy the lethargic mood, but it does get old.

How have you all been feeling lately? How has it been effecting your dress?

Big Kid

 Hey guys!
I have another day off of school today, yaaay! But I still have a whole other project to get done today, but luckily it's the kind of project I can get done whilst watching Gossip Girl from the comfort of my living room. I haven't seen the whole show, only the first season and some random episodes after that. I have to say, I can see what the hype is about. I love it! I'm not sure though if I love the show for it's content or because of my huge fashion-girl-crush on Blake Lively. I think both.
Anyways, today was one of those days where I woke up knowing what I wanted to wear. A lot of the time, I don't know until I get up and take a peek in my closet. I love it when it comes to me in the morning before I even get up, or better yet, the night before. This morning I woke up and I thought to myself "I have that polka dot dress and those unopened purple tights. Why aren't I utilizing them?" :) I wasn't sure if it would look too childish when I put it on, but I dress pretty classic a lot of the time, and it's good to have some fun! I'm a big kid at heart, anyways.

1990s Kid

I went into Urban Outfitters yesterday to find something cute for my house. These overalls were on a mannequin right by the front door. Needless to say, I had found my purchase and it wasn't for my house.
I have a love/hate relationship when something that I've always loved becomes in style. It sucks because everyone is wearing it all of a sudden, but it's also really great because suddenly it's a lot easier to find! I'm having that kind of thing right now were cover all cut offs. (AKA Shorteralls.) I already have a couple pairs, but it was love at first sight with these Urban Renewal black ones. No regrets here.
My camera died in the middle of this photo shoot, and for the second round I kind of thought I liked my studded Steve Maddens better with the outfit. So you get to see the outfit two ways as far as footwear goes. :) It's perfect for a sunny, casual day off.
