Trendy Tuesday: Chartreuse!

As usual for summer, bright colors are in full force. One I'm seeing a lot of this season is this bright yellow chartreuse color. I prefer my brights in moderation, a little pop of it in an accessory. What's your opinion on neons in summer, and what's your favorite way to rock the trend?

Pretty in Pastel

This is pretty much the perfect summer dress for me. It has lace detailing, flowers, it's in a fun color, it's hort, it's Free People... It's perfect! I want to just live in it, it's so comfy to wear in this hot weather. You know, the kind of weather where all you want to do is lie in a tub of cold water and drink smoothies all day, and you can't go outside because you're afraid you may die of a heat stroke? Yeah, it's that kind of hot today. Maybe it's just because I'm from Alaska and the hottest days I ever see are in the mid 80s, but this is ridiculous. I was told I was going to be in for a rainy summer. Somebody lied!

What to Wear This Summer!

         Hey everyone! I don't know about you guys, but here in Portland, it has been so hot! The transition between fall clothes (which are my favorite to shop for!) to summer clothes can be challenging for everyone, and my summer clothes wishlist is getting longer every time I check out a shopping website! With the summer time juices flowing and my wishlist growing, I took some time to create three awesome go-to hot weather looks! Take a look!

The Sheer Dress + Bandeau Top
Okay, you got me. I don't necessarily have a specific summer trend I was following with this outfit, other than the fact I just love it. One of the hardest things about summer for me can simply be that my most favorite clothes to shop far are more fall time appropriate. I prefer darker colors and layers, so I created this outfit with that idea in mind, but it's also light enough for summer!

The Sweet Dress

I totally picture a southern bell going to a country club or something in this dress, or maybe one of the Gossip Girls! I think it's a really cute outfit because of it's simplicity. I'm usually not girly enough to wear something like this on a daily basis, but I think it would be fun and a cute idea if you had a reason to get a little dressed up while still keeping cool.
