Trendy Tuesday: Snapbacks!

I cannot wait to try out the snap back/baseball hat trend! It's a little trickier for me, because I prefer more "masculine" hats like the Harlem one or the all black leather, but because my hair is so short, it's hard to keep the look feminine! I'll probably wear it with a dress or a baggy shirt tucked into a skirt - but only time will tell until I find the perfect hat! I do love the floral ones, but they are one of those things that I love on other people but not necessarily myself. I've come to realize that though I tried to fight using this word to describe my style - I do have a very tomboyish wardrobe! I feel most confident and comfortable in tom boy clothes. I think growing up, especially in Alaska, "tom boy" has a different meaning - As in tom boys where I come from, literally, dress and look like boys. I know I've always liked boy stuff with a girly twist - I love the contrast in things like that!

Is there any word that you don't typically identify with that you would still use to describe your style, in your own unique way? (That's one long question!)

Get the Look: Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen

Hey everyone!
I'm really, really sorry for posting later in the day this Thursday (I know it's probably already Friday for some of you.) I have class all day on Thursdays, so I'm going to try to start doing my posts the day before and then posting at midnight. Hopefully that works out!

Anyways, without further ado, let's get into this weeks 'Get the Look'. I chose Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen because... Well, for the same reason I chose every girl so far - They have a very unique style. As a kid growing up, like many other girls my age, I was pretty excited whenever a Mary Kate and Ashley movie was on TV or brought to school for one of our classes little Christmas or Birthday parties. Now that I'm older I don't pay much attention to them, but I do pay attention to their clothes. They both have an incredibly chic style, but it's all their own. Looking at the two girls, I cannot tell them apart. But when I looked up "Mary Kate Olsen Fashion" and "Ashley Olsen Fashion", I could really tell the difference! Mary Kate (my favorite of the two) has a grungier, more rock n' roll edge to her look, whereas Ashley seems to go for a more girlier, toned down, classic look. Both of them have touches of the others' style at certain points, as I'm sure they swap clothes on a regular basis, but still - I think it's cool that the twins who were dressed identically for the bulk of their childhood have grown into such unique and stylish fashionistas!

Trendy Tuesday: Statement Sunglasses!

Hey everyone! It's Trendy Tuesday! I'm going to keep it brief this time around, because I think today's Trendy Tuesday subject is really something you either love or you don't. For me, I would love to be able to rock the statement sunglasses trend right now, but unfortunately my eyes are horrible and as of right now, I'm stuck with glasses on all the time! I think sunglasses can be a fun way to add a bit more personality to an outfit. As far as over the top shades, it's a personal decision on how comfortable you feel with the more outlandish sunnies. But there's something for everyone!
What's your opinion on the statement sunglasses trend?

Trendy Tuesdays!

Hey guys! I decided I was going to start a themed daily post kind of thing, starting today with trendy Tuesday!
Crop tops are super in this summer, as you probably already know. (Unless you live under a rock. In which case, now you know.) Here are a couple cute ones I found, mostly from TopShop and Nordstrom. Links to buy will be down below.

How do you feel about the crop top trend?
