 There's something so essential about being outside. I'm from a place where you take two steps out the front door and you're in the wild, so going to parks and walking on pavement are newer experiences to me, that I sometimes have to work hard to enjoy. Though, no matter where I go, the sky never changes - And there's something about a sunny sky that calls for a pretty skirt and a little bare skin. It's only natural.

Pumpin' Straight to my Heart

As many of you probably already know, if somebody asked me what my favorite band was, I would without hesitation say Nirvana. That's why when my friend Kacie told me she had purchased me this Kurt Cobain tee shirt, I was pretty damn excited. I've been a collector of Kurt/Nirvana tshirts (and band tees in general, really) since I was about 10-11 years old. I think if there's one thing I love more than fashion, it's music, so I jump at the chance to fuze the two together in my outfits and on my blog. Thank you Kacie, for making this outfit possible! <3

Perfect Summer

 This skirt. 

Is my favorite thing. 

Head to toe Free People today, guys! This skirt has been on my wishlist for so long now; every variation, and every color of it has been added to my Free People wishlist and I can finally cross it off my (really long) list! I happened into Free People (Yeah, right. That never happens. I happened to plan to go to Free People and not tell my boyfriend about it until we were already there.) yesterday and saw this skirt on sale. Having $1.00 to my name, I figured it would be best to wait and order it online. Plot twist! It isn't on sale online! After I found that information out, I made the command decision that this skirt should be my very first ever credit card purchase. I'm feeling very adult, and very confident in my new skirt. I justified the purchase by telling myself it is the absolute perfect summer time skirt, and when I think about it now, I didn't have one of those! So no regrets here. :)

Eeny Meeny Miny Minnie

 I have been staying up way too late and waking up way too late lately, which unfortunately has meant a lot of the time that I'm ready to take blog pictures, means horrible lighting because the sun is going down by the time I've gotten up, eaten, and gotten ready. (I'm horrible, I know! But Netflix has been so tempting lately.) I felt really good about this outfit today, mainly because I didn't have anywhere to go and nobody to see, but I still got dressed up. Getting a little dressed up, even if it just means wearing something I like that's not pajamas, always makes me feel better about my day. I'm also happy about this outfit because I think lately my blog posts have been very casual, and though I do love seeing casual outfits on blogs, I also like to post things that people might not always try. For example, polka dots, Minnie Mouse socks, oxford heels, and an oversized blazer all in one outfit? Not exactly an every day look. (Unless of course for you, it is, in which case I applaud you.)

On a semi-unrelated note, I'm pretty excited because I think I decided what I want to do after college. Everyone has always told me to be a writer, but I love fashion first and foremost. I think after college I'm going to move to a city like New York City or Seattle (depending on how gutsy I feel at that time!) and per-sue a career as a fashion writer. How cool would it be to be a styling editor or something?

Would any of you fashion lovers like a job in fashion? If so what? Or is it just a hobby?

Cold Weather Maxi

So I'm really really in love with my skirt. I got it from Nordstrom about a week ago, along with this really cozy cardigan I'm wearing. Unfortunately, I still have the chills so I only had this outfit on for a little while today before having to change into something warmer for my walk to class. I'll definitely be wearing this skirt again soon though!
