Cherry Bomb

On my way to take a walk with Matt and take blog pictures, my camera died! I'm so glad it did. I was originally wearing a totally different outfit that I wasn't that excited about, but it did the trick. So what we ended up doing was going to check out a thrift store while my camera charged, and I found this beautiful vintage dress for only $20! I am so excited about it. I've owned it for a total of two hours, and I can already tell you it's my new favorite dress. I have been craving something cherry red, and this cute floral midi did just the trick! I've also been dying for the perfect button front dress for seriously YEARS. I feel so 90s and so confident in this dress, especially after I paired it with my Doc Marten boots. I absolutely love it when I'm able to find the perfect item thrifting, and for a great price!

Velouria

Yesterday I went to Nordstrom, which is pretty much my favorite place on earth. I bought some really cute stuff for fall, and also a few trendier pieces I've been dying to try. For example, I saw these velour leggings and didn't even think about them until the girl who got my dressing room set up put them in there. (That's my favorite part of shopping at Nordstrom - I always make sure to get a room early, because I know the girls who work there fairly well and I love seeing how they style pieces versus how I thought to style them.)

Needless to say, I fell in love. These leggings are fun, funky, and incredibly cozy. After running errands today in the cold while wearing these, my legs didn't feel chilled at all. It's safe to say they've earned a spot on my "Fall Essentials" list! I think it's the ultimate score when you can find a super fun piece that also serves a practical function.

What pieces have you been loving for cold weather?

Good Bad Luck

Today was kind of a hard day. I didn't too as well as I had hoped on two quizzes and was completely confused on a project I had due today. Money troubles and spilling my can of soda which was my only source of caffeine for the afternoon didn't help much either! I almost didn't take pictures but a friend of mine and fellow blogger (Hello AGAIN Kacie! :) ) reminded me that I should because I enjoy it. It's funny, I don't know if anyone else does this, but when I get done I don't do the things that I love. Taking these pictures actually did make me feel a lot better and my evening class wasn't as bad as my afternoon class, my mom prized me with some shopping money and reminded me that without crappy days, we would never be happy. It's funny how a day can start one way and end another.

In between classes I'm usually in a time crunch because I have to walk to and from one of them. I had this outfit styled up a little bit more in a fall way before I was ready to take photos, but rushing back was tiring not to mention the weather wasn't exactly chilly! Needless to say, I had to ditch the jacket. Luckily for me though, I managed to pick out a great piece in my grumpy state. This slip works well styled or on it's own!

Wishlist Wednesday: Red!

Hey guys!
Sorry I've been posting so late into the day. I'm going to try to start creating my posts the day before so I can get them to you in a timely manor. (Except for the outfit posts.) I have been thinking a lot about what to do for this Wishlist Wednesday. I almost decided on doing it on Free People's July catalog, but I did a Free People post last Wednesday! Instead I picked an overall theme, rather than specific items.
When I look into my closet, I see a lot of the same colors. I know this is a common problem for a lot of women - We know what we like, so when a top comes in the color we know we look good in, we purchase it! I have a lot of darker colors in my closet. Navy blue, olive green, black, gray, etc. I've always been told that I look good in red, but never wore it because I think I look too Christmas-y. Don't get me wrong, I've seen plenty of other women pull it off beautifully. Maybe I just have a Christmas-y face? Anyways, I've been craving some more red in my wardrobe! I think it's such a beautiful, fun, rich color, and if I can just get that silly Christmas idea out of my head (it's well on it's way out, don't worry) I think I could be seeing a lot more red in my future.

What colors do you wish you had more of in your closet?
