What Year Is It?

 It's 2016!

Hey everyone! So much has happened since I lasted posted; my blog has been sorely neglected over the past few months. I promise I have a good excuse though - I graduated college last month! The weeks leading up to my graduation and portfolio show (the Art Institutes require a finished portfolio for graduation) were hectic. I got, on average, about 3-4 hours of sleep every night, spent more time at FedEx than any normal person should (and spent a fortune in printing costs), and lived on my computer. I was seriously at the point where I couldn't close my eyes after a while because my eye lids would flicker like I was still looking at a computer screen!

Despite the busyness though, life has been going so great. My boyfriend Eric and I have some big plans moving into the new year, that I'm excited to share with you all! I'll be doing a much better job at keeping my Instagram updated as well. :) I'm so excited to have time again to do what I love, which brings me to my New Years Resolution - doing what I want! I'm one of those people who let's other peoples' feelings and thoughts influence my own all too often, so my focus on 2016 is going to be to be as selfish as I need. But that's a lot harder than it sounds!

March Outfit Recap

 Fate

Usually I'm quick to tell you guys about how the month was a whirlwind and give the typical oh-it-went-by-so-quickly speech, but it would be a lie to say that about this March. It was slow, boring, and most of all, stressful! I am happy to announce that I am in full-swing Spring break mode, writing this at 4 AM because, hey, I have nothing to do tomorrow but wake up past noon, play video games, and eat macaroons! March was an intense month for me, but as always, I'm excited for the next big thing on my agenda: April.

Click on the link below the images to check out full outfit details, and to read about whatever nonsense I felt like spewing that day, if you haven't already. Let me know in the comments how your March went!

Metallics

Going to school for fashion means always having to know what's up and coming trend wise. A trend predicted to be popular this upcoming Spring season that I'm totally in love with and already mentally preparing for, is metallic accessories. My favorite way to utilize this trend, is with metallic shoes. Below are a few outfits I put together featuring some adorably bad ass metallic shoes that I'm hoping to get my hands on. Let me know what you think of my looks in the comments below!

Do you think you could get into the metallic trend? How would you put your own spin on it?

Metallics

I really love taking simple shapes such as boyfriend jeans, and basic tees or sweaters with this look, so the attention is on the shoes. Floral is another way to keep the look girly.

Heavy Metal

This is my more tough look. I love the metallic Doc Martens, keeping the colors muted will ensure the look stays tough, not sweet.

As The City Grows Dark

This was my more glam look. Again, simple shapes keep the look more focused. I chose to use accessories in golden tones to draw attention to the shoes as well.

Boyfriend Jeans

I just recently bought my very first pair of boyfriend jeans. I know. It's crazy to think I've gone this long in my personal fashion career without a pair, but all that's changed now and I haven't taken them off. Unfortunately, my schedule hasn't allowed me to take many outfit photos the last few days. Because of my new obsession and the fact that I can't let it go unmentioned on this blog, I thought it would be fun to make a few Polyvore outfit concepts, and share them with you. For each of the three, I started with a pair of boyfriend jeans. I made a girly/fun outfit, a more "cool" and effortless outfit, and lastly a casual, feminine outfit, all of which work amazing with a pair of boyfriend jeans.

Which look would you rock?

Black Cats

Happy Halloween everybody! I love this holiday so much. It has always been one of my favorites. When I was a little girl, I was literally a witch every year until I was like, fourteen years old. I've always been obsessed with witches, magic, mystical things, the after life, black cats (cats in general, but we're not talking about that right now!), potions, all of it! I always feel like it's my favorite holiday, and I'm always really sad on November 1st when all the anticipation is over - But then I remember that Christmas is my other favorite holiday and I immediately begin to prepare for it. Literally, the next outfit post I do will probably talk about Christmas.

Anyways, unfortunately I have class tonight so I'm not going trick or treating or anything like that. I did however buy these kitty ears (couldn't resist. The sad thing is, I'll probably find an excuse to wear them throughout the year.) and this awesome cat sweater from Urban Renewal at UO. Keeping the colors spooky and dark with blood red and black, I think, was the best move. Though I'm not a witch this year, and I'm not going trick or treating, I'm not going to let that stop me from being super stoked and super festive!

What are your doing for Halloween/what did you do? Did you dress up?

Pretty Good Lookin' (For a Girl)

First of all, I should probably explain the title of this post! I have been singing the song "You're Pretty Good Looking (For a Girl)" by the White Stripes all day, because Matt played it right when I woke up. For some reason, if I wake up to a song, I won't be able to get it out of my head! I think Matt sings this chorus to me... I'm not sure if I'm offended or flattered, but I love the song, so I take it! :)
Today, Matt, my cousins Matt & Timmy and I all went to Portland's Saturday Market. While we were there, Matt discoved there's a carnival near by! I spent $50 on tickets that I probably won't use ever again. So if anyone wants to buy tickets to the carnival at a discount price. Contact me. (Lol.)

At first I was wearing a dress today, but as I stated a few posts back - Nothing these boys want to do calls for a dress. So, I changed out and opted for my high waist jean shorts and my favorite black top! (It's so light weight and fabulous. Yes, I said it. Fabulous!)

The outfit felt so plain without any accessories though and I had just used my birthday money to buy some jewelry earlier this week! This is also the first time my Ray Bans have been out of their case in months! I may look a little bad ass, but I was one and done on the carnival rides!

What's your go to outfit for a fun day at a carnival, or just out walking around?

Summer Fun!

I am in such a good mood today! I finished my math class (finally!) and am going to the movies tonight with my cousins + my boyfriend to see 'The Purge' and 'The Internship'. It was a gorgeous day here in Portland - Again! So I thought it was the perfect time to bust out this turquoise cami that I bought yesterday on sale from Urban Outfitters! I don't get my amazing staff discount on sale items, but I still got it at sale price, so I'm proud for not spending all my money in one place! (However, I did go home that evening and spend $370 dollars at Free People, so I shouldn't be too proud!) Speaking of my free people purchase, I am debating on whether or not I should show you all what I bought in my next post using the images they have online, or if I should wait until I get them in and model them myself. I guess you'll all just have to wait and see!

Being goofy in the elevator. My boyfriend is becoming quite the photographer!

I absolutely love the sheer paneling trend going on right now, and who doesn't love a good lacy bandeau?

I've had these converse since the 7th grade! My mom used to buy all my shoes really big (because I have very tall genetics, and my mom herself wears a size 10 and is 5'11" but super thin!) I never did grow into all those shoes, which was good news for my mom because she kept all of them for herself! Maybe she was tricking me... Anyways, I absolutely love these shoes. I don't like converse high tops because they started making them with the fake patch on the side (complete with painted on stitching. Wtf?) but the solid black ones still have the real rubber sewn on patch. Legit!

My boyfriend Matt said that because he always takes my pictures that I should return the favor; I mean he's such a fashionista. What a goof! (In case anyone is wondering though, his California Republic t-shirt is one I bought for him from Urban Outfitters.)

I hope you all have a great day, and if it's sunny where you are, I hope you get a chance to get out and enjoy it! ♥
