Metallics

Going to school for fashion means always having to know what's up and coming trend wise. A trend predicted to be popular this upcoming Spring season that I'm totally in love with and already mentally preparing for, is metallic accessories. My favorite way to utilize this trend, is with metallic shoes. Below are a few outfits I put together featuring some adorably bad ass metallic shoes that I'm hoping to get my hands on. Let me know what you think of my looks in the comments below!

Do you think you could get into the metallic trend? How would you put your own spin on it?

Metallics

I really love taking simple shapes such as boyfriend jeans, and basic tees or sweaters with this look, so the attention is on the shoes. Floral is another way to keep the look girly.

Heavy Metal

This is my more tough look. I love the metallic Doc Martens, keeping the colors muted will ensure the look stays tough, not sweet.

As The City Grows Dark

This was my more glam look. Again, simple shapes keep the look more focused. I chose to use accessories in golden tones to draw attention to the shoes as well.

Boyfriend Jeans

I just recently bought my very first pair of boyfriend jeans. I know. It's crazy to think I've gone this long in my personal fashion career without a pair, but all that's changed now and I haven't taken them off. Unfortunately, my schedule hasn't allowed me to take many outfit photos the last few days. Because of my new obsession and the fact that I can't let it go unmentioned on this blog, I thought it would be fun to make a few Polyvore outfit concepts, and share them with you. For each of the three, I started with a pair of boyfriend jeans. I made a girly/fun outfit, a more "cool" and effortless outfit, and lastly a casual, feminine outfit, all of which work amazing with a pair of boyfriend jeans.

Which look would you rock?

Mother's Day!

Hi Guys! As you all probably know, Mother's Day is tomorrow! (Or if because of how late I'm posting this, it might be today for you!)

I had my first "real" day at Anthropologie yesterday, and I couldn't believe how many guys asked me to help them find something for their mothers/wives. It was really sweet - One guy spent over 40 minutes pairing necklaces and asked me if he "did it right", and another man approached me excitedly with a little hat he said was "just his mom's style". I think it's great to see so many people appreciating the ladies in their lives, and it got me thinking about my own and also about how one day I might have a son or a husband in Anthro asking for gift help.

Anyways, with my mom in mind, I put together a little collage of mother's day gifts I suggested to people to buy their mothers. My mom is a home maker, though not a very typical one. (I don't think I'll ever see her in an apron. Ever.) She absolutely loves redoing her house; painting, refurbishing, buying used furniture and fixing it up... Everything! Her favorite part is buying cute accessories for the house. She absolutely loves candles, kitchen ware, goofy pictures, and pretty much anything else that makes a house a cozy home!

What did you get your mom's for mother's day? If you are a mom yourself, what did you receive?

Happy Mother's Day!!
