Saturday

Hey guys. This term of school is the first term where my Saturday actually lands on a Saturday, and though I usually have some online class homework due on Saturdays, I still like to dedicate this day to myself in a way. I kept my outfit casual and feminine today, so it was a minimum stress and effort look. These looks are sometimes my favorite. I know when it comes to fashion blogging, sometimes it's more fun to see people's outlandish looks, but I also just love seeing people's personal styles, and my personal style on Saturday is all about looking cute but casual.

I've been thinking about something. My outfits are almost always inspired by music. Whether I'm inspired by the way a musician dresses, or just the general vibe of a certain song, I'm always feeling inspired by what I'm hearing. I probably have a new favorite song everyday which dictates my feelings and style that day, so I figured I would start posting them and sharing with you! Today would be "Brendan's Death Song" by Red Hot Chili Peppers. For me, it is such a peaceful and beautiful song. It makes me want to relax and just be - Which is what Saturdays are all about. :)

Boyfriend Jeans

I just recently bought my very first pair of boyfriend jeans. I know. It's crazy to think I've gone this long in my personal fashion career without a pair, but all that's changed now and I haven't taken them off. Unfortunately, my schedule hasn't allowed me to take many outfit photos the last few days. Because of my new obsession and the fact that I can't let it go unmentioned on this blog, I thought it would be fun to make a few Polyvore outfit concepts, and share them with you. For each of the three, I started with a pair of boyfriend jeans. I made a girly/fun outfit, a more "cool" and effortless outfit, and lastly a casual, feminine outfit, all of which work amazing with a pair of boyfriend jeans.

Which look would you rock?

Favorites Friday: Blogger Special - Le Happy

I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of picky when it comes to bloggers. I think that the world of fashion blogging is so vast today that though there are some truly inspiring and unique blogs out there, finding someone who you think is really interesting is a bit of a diamond in the rough. That's why I was so excited when I stumbled upon the blog, Le Happy.
What first drew me to Lua's blog was her name. I've always loved the name Lua; it's so rare. Just like her name, Lua's style is rare too. She has such a fun, funky, punk style. She reminds me of the kind of girl I'd want to be if I lived in LA in the 1980s, only she's in New York right now! (Which makes it even cooler.) You can always count on her blog to introduce you to new, unique brands. I'm always on the hunt for new stores because, though I love Urban brand stores, they're so popular that their uniquness can be sometimes overshaddowed. (Not that their popularity is a bad thing!) Lua's style is refreshing and full of her personality. Honestly, as dorky as it may make me sound, when I first say Lua's blog the first word that came to my mind was "cool". Though Lua's style isn't quite what I would call my own, it is definitely up my alley -- And besides, that's the great thing about her style and her blog, it is definitely all her own.

Not to mention -- That hair. So damn cool.

Cool & Casual

Hello there all you beautiful readers! I hope you're day was better than mine. My day wasn't necessarily bad, it was just busy doing something that I really didn't feel like doing! I have nobody to blame but myself for putting off my homework, which is what I was doing literally all day. Granted, I didn't wake up until 12:00 PM, but still, a lot of hours were put in today!
My favorite kind of outfits lately are a little more casual than normal. I find myself being drawn to more laid back pieces that can be worn a lot of different ways, and I've also been drawn to bloggers who can make a pair of shorts and a t-shirt look like the coolest outfit ever. Elaborate, awesome, unique outfits are always fun to see and wear - But there's something to be said about a girl who can make the most casual things look the most chic.

What basic items do you feel most confident in?
