Howl

First off, I would just like to say I had a great time co-hosting the Free People event at Bridgeport Village last night! I think my favorite part was when I bought this dress. Maybe it's because of my new hair color, but I've really been feeling anything with a dark, moody, edgier vibe lately. Of course, whatever vibe I'm feeling is subject to change at any minute. I've also been really inspired by my all time favorite band, Nirvana. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame last night, and I've been thinking a lot about why they're my favorite band and how the music I love inspires the fashions I love, as well as how I would define my personal style (which can be defined as eclectic, at best.) Michael Stipe said it best in his speech last night, Nirvana was "a sweet and beautiful—but fed-up—fury, coupled with howling vulnerability."

That quote made me re-realize why Nirvana has always been my favorite band... And it also helped me realize how I define my style.

Fall Essentials!

Hey everyone! I'm back home in Alaska where the internet access is limited, so I apologize for my lack of posts! (I wonder how many times I've apologized for that in the last month? Hmmm..) Anyways, it's my favorite time of year here in Alaska, and from what I can see in pictures, it's my favorite time of year everywhere else too! It's Autumn! I've expressed my undying love for the fall season's festivities, fashions, colors, and foods nonstop in this blog, and I figured it was finally time to do a blog post about some of my favorite things from my favorite season! Without any further ado, I give you, my fall essentials. :)
Fall essentials

 1. A chunky, thick sweater that's great for layering
2. Thick socks, preferably worn sticking out of boots!
3. A deep red lipstick
4. A cute mug for coffee, tea, hot cocoa, or any other yummy hot drinks :)

Fall essentials 2

5. A fitted leather motorcycle jacket
6. Cute booties in a fall color
7. A soft leather bag
8. A chunky knit beanie (Especially if you have a pixie cut!)
9. A good book to snuggle up with when the weather gets rough

Fall essentials 3

10. A plaid skirt (Think "Clueless")
11. Opaque tights. Some in fun colors are always good, but also make sure you have a few in black!
12. Little stud earings
14. Cozy infinity scarf
15. Matte, neutral eye shadows (My favorites are Urban Decay's "Naked Basics" palette!)
16. This may not be an essential for everyone, but it is for me! A record player! There's nothing like keeping warm in your house or apartment, snuggled up with a hot cup of cocoa and your favorite record playing!

Well those are my fall essentials. Of course, there are some new trends I'll be trying this year, but this is just a list of things I come back to, year by year! - Is there anything you would have added onto the list?
