It's Only Rock & Roll

I've been so inspired by the 1970s lately. It's a decade I've always been drawn to, but lately, it's like I don't want to be wearing or listening to anything not from that time. It's funny how fashion and music work so hand in hand. At least they do, for me. Lately, my style inspiration question has been "Would mom have worn this when she was 19?" when getting ready in the morning.

What decades have you guys been loving most lately? What's been inspiring you?

Acutely Aware

Hey everyone. I am feeling so refreshed and energized today. It seems like I am never at a neutral state. When I'm sad, it might only last a day, but it feels so deep and hopeless. When I'm happy though, I feel like every breath I take is such a beautiful experience. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that music has a huge effect on my mood. I've been listen to music with a specific purpose in mind, and the purpose in mind is to feel grateful and happy. Not happy in a sappy way, but in a genuine way, and in an aware way. I guess the word would be enlightened. A quote that comes to mind is one by Sylvia Plath, it best describes what I'm feeling lately, and what I want for myself.

"I want to become acutely aware of all I have taken for granted."

I have a March playlist to share with you guys later. It's just kind of a state-of-mind for March playlist; songs that make me feel this way, I guess. I hope you all become acutely aware of all you have taken for granted, even just for a moment today. <3

Sympathy for the Devil

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted as many outfit posts so far this month. My main photographer (and boyfriend) has been sick lately and hasn't been up to taking photos for me. However, when I saw him today he was feeling well enough to suck it up for a few minutes and do me a favor!

I don't think it's vain to say you love your outfit, and if it is, I don't care. Because I love my outfit today. I feel so confident in a t-shirt and a blazer. Even though it's simple, I feel like it's very "me". I guess though I love fashion and am going to school for it, the word "glamorous" doesn't always resignate with me, at least not in my most comfortable and Mackenzie-like state. I love a good band t-shirt, and this one is automatically my new favorite! I don't know if any of you are fans of The Rolling Stones, but Keith Richards famously sported a t-shirt very similar to this one when the band really gained popularity. Obviously, that gives the t-shirt a heavy tones of sarcasm and irony - Also very me! Needless to say, today was a good day, outfit wise.

Earthy

Hey guys! It's been a while since I've done an outfit post, but after buying the clogs from my wishlist as well as floral corduroy pants, I figured an outfit post was in order. I am so in love with these shoes! I originally wanted to get the black ones but they had these on the counter as I was buying the pants and they were in my size. I figured it had to be fate. There's just no other explanation. Besides, I can always return them, or I can get the black ones anyways. The more the merrier, right?
