I have actually thought about giving up blogging a lot recently, especially after my trip back home. I was telling my boyfriend that I don't like doing something that makes me so critical and judgmental of myself. Taking tons of pictures, deciding if you look good enough in them, questioning if your outfits are even "blog worthy", determining whether or not anybody cares, few followers, etc. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about! It can be very trying, and I'm trying to better myself in a lot of ways and I just wasn't sure if blogging was making me a better person, or a more bitter person. Matt told me a story about this animator that he really liked, and he said that this particular animator started making videos on YouTube. This guy started off with just a few people, and gradually started gaining views, however all the animating "experts" said that his work doesn't really qualify as true animation, that it was of a low quality, and just giving him criticism in general. Of course the guy took those words to heart, but he stuck with it. My boyfriend just had to remind me that the saying "you're your own worst critic" exists for a reason, and even when you think what you're doing might not matter because top fashion bloggers, or in his example's case, great animators aren't noticing what you're doing, doesn't mean that there isn't even just a handful of "little guys" that truly care.
Please excuse that large paragraph. All I really wanted to say was thank you to the "little guys" who read my blog. You're big guys to me.
